Smart home gadgets add up to one and all that are making home life easier than ever before. One such home gadget is the doorbell system. It’s not very often that I see a home these days without at least one of these gadgets already in place. These doorbells can be set to alert people when there is movement on the front or even on the back doors of the house.
Another one of the most useful home gadgets today is the smart lock. This is a security gadget that you can have installed in your house, garage or even the shed. It comes with an application that lets you know when somebody is trying to enter your home. As soon as this happens, it will emit a signal that says that somebody is already in your home. You can have either a keypad installed in front of the thermostat or you can have the thermostat programmable using your smartphone.
For some home security, you might also want to consider getting a wireless security camera. There are now gadgets that allow you to record images when somebody enters your house. You can choose from a wide variety of cameras including dome, night vision and a built-in model. Some of these cameras also have an SD card which allows you to store the images onto your computer or a thumb drive for safekeeping.
The third category of smart home gadgets is those that help you manage your electricity. Some of these devices include the new smart security camera and the smart meter maid. The smart meter maid simply reminds you when your meter has finally topped the limit so that you can save up or get an electrician to fix it. The smart security camera allows you to see who is entering your home with your smartphone and then alerts you with a video message alert. The new smart phone applications that are coming out today allow you to see what is going on when you’re away from your home.
The last smart home gadget that we will look at in this article is the wemo wireless TV Tuner. These TVs come with built-in Wi-Fi, which allows them to automatically connect to a secure Wi-Fi network you are in to stream live TV. You can view this on a large screen TV or watch a smaller TV as needed.
Last but not least in our list of smart home gadgets are the Nest Protect outdoor weather station. It has two physical devices as well as a digital device. The physical device has two probes that send out an infrared signal when the temperature drops below a certain threshold. If it drops below the threshold, it sends out a text message to your cell phone or your email address. The digital device has four different sensors including a door and window sensor, smoke detector, heat detector, and a high wind sensor. When it’s time to pick up a cup of coffee or tea, all you have to do is reach over to one of the ports and it’ll remotely control the thermostat, turn the lights on or off, and it even switches on the TV.
